Our everyday life could hardly be possible without petroleum products; products derived from oil are present everywhere from transport to clothing. However, petroleum production, processing and transport pose countless hazards to the environment, and thereby to mankind. Oil disasters arise primarily from human carelessness but also from devastating natural forces, causing severe and long-lasting damage to our living environment, economy, and society.

The product is based on the patented TECDRY technology and manufactured according to unique know-how. The oleophilic porous structure of the OIL RESIST powder strongly draws and quickly adsorbs the oil spill contamination. The captured and encapsulated oil does not sink but floats on the water surface and is thus easy to collect. This is attributed to the low specific weight and the special hydrophobic properties of OIL RESIST that separate the contaminant from the water at all times. Not only does OIL RESIST collect, neutralize and clean up visible oil pollution from the water but it fully removes all the invisible hazardous and undesirable components of the spilled oil as well. (Known as TPH, i. e. Total Petrol Hydrocarbons, which refers collectively to the entire spectrum of hydrocarbons to be found potentially in crude oil that are present in various combinations in refined oil products as well.)


Due to the exceptional thermal stability of OIL RESIST, oil adsorbed in the powder is very difficult to ignite, allowing for safe storage and transport. However, the encapsulated and thus neutralized oil ‒ a soft solid substance formed by the mixture of the oil and the applied OIL RESIST powder in a short time ‒ itself is utile and valuable. It can be burned in appropriately equipped and certified incinerators as it makes an excellent fuel of high calorific value. OIL RESIST remains environmentally sustainable throughout its life cycle, including all the components, the substance’s behavior in application, and the end product. If large volumes of the same type of oil are neutralized by OIL RESIST (in a manufacturing plant or in the wake of a natural disaster), the oil can be fully recovered from the adsorbed state and reused subsequently. In environmental remediation, the unused portion of the oil adsorbent powder can be retrieved separately by a sieve.
